Product description:
The Helko Traditional Black Forest product line represents the highest quality of axes and hatchets with traditional German broad blades and splitting heads. The blade is reforged by hand with only minimal reworking, so that each head has its own individual forging marks and gives the tool an urban look.
The handle is made from high quality hickory wood to ensure it withstands the high loads when striking. This American type of wood is extremely tough, but still elastic – strong impacts are absorbed and the wrists are protected during work. The cowbar handle provides a very comfortable grip, while the knob at the end of the handle provides additional safety by preventing slipping. The use of environmentally friendly linseed oil gives the handle a comfortable touch and guarantees a firm grip. It also protects the wood from moisture and fungal attack and increases the lifespan of the tool.
The axe is equipped with a handmade sheat made from tanned cowhide. Linked with nickel-plated rivets, it can be securely fastened to the axe head with an adjustable strap.
